Composer

Multi-file edits in one focused session.

Composer (Cmd+I) is a dedicated workspace for tasks that span files: a checklist, unified diffs, chat tabs, and checkpoints — without dumping changes straight into your working tree. It uses the same ONLINE · OFFLINE · AUTO model routing as chat and the agent; your repo and indexes stay on the device.

Session

One task, many files, one review surface.

Composer keeps scope visible so you know what will change before anything merges — org policy can gate external models and tools the same as Agent mode.

Cmd+I entry

Open Composer from the keyboard. Describe the task; the model proposes a file checklist before editing.

Chat tabs

Multiple conversation threads inside the same Composer session — useful for parallel subtasks or comparing approaches.

File checklist

See which paths will be touched. Add or remove scope before work proceeds.

Review

Diff-first, not surprise commits.

The same Rust diff engine and write-approval flow powers Composer, inline Cmd+K, and the coding agent.

Unified diffs

Review all pending edits in one place. Accept per hunk or accept all when you are satisfied.

Checkpoints

Composer checkpoints persist in local SQLite on your machine. Pick up a long refactor after a restart.

Git stays yours

Nothing commits automatically. Accepted diffs land in your working tree; you commit when ready. ORQVION does not host your repository.

When to use it

Composer vs Cmd+K vs Agent panel.

Three surfaces, one engine and router — pick the scope that matches the job.

  • Cmd+K — single selection or small inline edit with an immediate diff preview (fast model from your routing mode).
  • Composer — multi-file feature work with a checklist, chat tabs, and session checkpoints.
  • Agent panel — open-ended tasks, terminal work, and subagents in the main IDE layout (Pro+ for full Agent mode).

Download ORQVION and open Composer on a real project.

Try a bounded refactor first — rename a module, add tests, or scaffold a Laravel feature. Use offline models from Settings → Advanced Local when you need air-gapped work.
